SUSWEARTEX PROJECT PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED ECODESIGN TRAINING

On January 22, 2026, participants of the project "SusWearTex: Baltic Neighbourhood Cooperation in Sustainable Workwear Initiatives - Driving Recycled Fiber Excellence in Workwear Textiles " attended the training " EU Ecodesign Regulation. Textile legislation of the EU and Ukraine". The training was organized by Ukrainian Fashion Education Group, and the speaker was Tetiana Pushkarova, Development Manager of the company Re:inventex.

Tetiana Pushkareva discussed new EU ecodesign requirements, the implementation of digital product passports, global textile recycling trends, key legislative acts aimed at preventing textile waste, the current state of textile legislation in Ukraine, key challenges, and prospects for harmonization with the EU, among other topics.

The training was attended by Liudmyla Melnyk, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, coordinator of the SusWearTex project, and Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Engineering, Professor - project participant.

Interesting information was presented on the implementation of responsible textile waste disposal in Ukraine. The speaker shared the experiences of Ukrainian companie actively pursuing waste recycling. Re:inventex is a leader in sustainable development in textile production and waste-free use of textile resources in Ukraine and globally, and actively collaborates with garment and textile companies.

At the end of the training, the speaker answered questions from the participants. The focus and relevance of the questions underscored the importance of the chosen topic.

We are sincerely grateful to speaker Tetiana Pushkareva for the engaging training. The knowledge gained will contribute to the successful implementation of the KNUTD scientists' research project.
