THE FIRST STAGE OF THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL Q-HELIX ALLIANCE UNDER THE EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY SUPPORT PROGRAM “SCIENTIFIC VECTORS” IN PORTUGAL

On January 12–13, 2026, a strategic meeting of the Q-Helix European University Alliance partners took place, united by a common goal - the creation of a single European campus with joint educational and scientific programs and opportunities for scientific mobility. Q-Helix is an alliance of 11 leading universities from 10 European countries, which jointly developed the international project “Q-Helix — The Inclusive European University guided by the Quintuple Helix Compass” within the framework of the European Commission’s competition — European Universities Initiative.

The Higher Polytechnic Institute Instituto Superior Politécnico Gaya (Portugal) - a strategic partner of the consortium hospitably hosted all representatives, including the VShB Academy - the project coordinator (Republic of Poland), Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (Ukraine), Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Technical University in Liberec (Czech Republic), University of Prešov (Slovak Republic), International Business College of Mitrovica (Kosovo), Titu Maiorescu University (Romania), University College EPHEC (Belgium), European Humanities University (Lithuania), University of Management and Business Artois (France), Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine).

During the meeting, the coordinators and partners worked on functional documents, in particular, the formation of scientific thematic schools for conducting research, forms of scientific mobility, topics of international conferences, in order to ensure the basis of high-quality scientific research in the alliance. The discussions focused on agreed approaches to knowledge sharing, lifelong learning, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in scientific research. Particular attention was paid to the strategic development of the alliance, strengthening interaction between stakeholders, and planning joint scientific initiatives for the coming months.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Cooperation, Prof. Liudmyla Hanushchak-Yefimenko, and the Head of the Institute of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, Assoc. Prof. Svitlana Arabuli, presented our university as an integral part of the European innovation ecosystem of knowledge, which is an environment for strengthening scientific research, supporting researchers, and transforming knowledge into sustainable economic impact and the implementation of new technologies.

The international scientific project of the Q-Helix Alliance is designed to develop a multi-level innovation ecosystem at the university, providing applicants of all levels and doctoral students with new opportunities for scientific research within the framework of the Q-Helix Alliance, networking, and access to the necessary infrastructure for the implementation of scientific developments in such priority strategic goals of Q-Helix as: security, healthcare, environment, and smart space using artificial intelligence in these thematic areas.
