On 4 December 2025, lecturers from the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design participated in the 23rd International Art and Education Readings, held in memory of Professor O. P. Rudnytska, under the theme “Continuing Education in the 21st Century: Experience, Innovations, Trends”.

The event brought together over 200 participants from Ukraine and abroad and focused on current trends in art and teacher education, innovative approaches to teacher training, and the andragogical and philosophical-axiological foundations of professional development.
The Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design was represented by: Alla Semenova – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department; Inna Kosyak – PhD, Associate Professor; Maksym Moskaliov – PhD, Associate Professor; Alla Kolodyazhna – PhD, Associate Professor; and Aliona Tykhomirova – PhD Sciences, Senior Lecturer.

During the readings, participants discussed the challenges of arts and teacher education in wartime, the importance of integrating art, psychology, and digital technologies into teacher training, the development of inclusive practices, and the implementation of trauma-informed and psychologically sensitive approaches in the educational process.

Special attention was given to professional dialogue with stakeholders – representatives of the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In 2023, a cooperation agreement was signed with this scientific institution, providing for systematic expert, scientific, and methodological support for the educational and professional programs “Psychology” and “Vocational Education”.
During informal discussions, issues such as updating the content of educational programmes, aligning learning outcomes with current professional standards, strengthening the scientific component of training for students, and developing interdisciplinary educational practices were discussed. Such interaction with stakeholders contributes to improving the quality of educational programmes, their relevance and compliance with the needs of society and the professional community.
The event is traditionally held by the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and is aimed at preserving the scientific heritage of Professor Oksana Rudnytska, developing modern pedagogical thought, and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.
