DEVELOPMENT OF PRACTICE-ORIENTED TRAINING OF PSYCHOLOGISTS: COOPERATION BETWEEN KNUTD AND THE IVAN ZYAZYUN INSTITUTE OF PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION AND ADULT EDUCATION OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UKRAINE

On February 9, 2026, at the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, based at the Psychological Consulting and Training Center, applicants for higher education majoring in 053 “Psychology” at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design began their pre-graduation internship. The cooperation agreement with Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design ensures the systematic nature of the partnership and overall responsibility for the quality of professional training of future psychologists.

Cooperation with the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was established with the support of its director, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Larysa Lukyanova. In the practice-oriented dimension, this collaboration is actively developing with Alla Semenova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Such coordination ensures the integration of scientific research, educational innovations, and applied practices in the professional and pedagogical education.

 

The working meeting was attended by: Maksym Moskaliov, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design, and Internship Supervisor at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; Olena Ihnatovych, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Head of the Department of Labor Psychology at the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Alla Shevenko, PhD in Psychology, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Labor Psychology, and Internship Supervisor at the Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the pre-graduation internship program was presented, the key areas of students’ professional activities were identified, and the expected learning outcomes were outlined.

The purpose of the internship is to consolidate and enhance the professional competencies of future psychologists, particularly in the areas of psychodiagnostic research, individual client counseling, development and implementation of corrective programs, and the management of professional documentation.

The tasks of the pre-graduation internship include: familiarization with the regulatory and legal documentation governing the activities of a psychologist at the practice site, as well as the system of interaction between a psychologist and other employees; understanding the specific features of psychologists’ work at the practice site; performing the functions of a psychologist at the practice site; maintaining the necessary professional documentation; collecting empirical material for the qualification work; preparing the practice report.

An important area of students’ work during the internship is educational activity, which includes preparing presentations for round tables, participating in scientific and practical seminars, and submitting abstracts to conference proceedings.

The Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in collaboration with Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, serves as an example of effective stakeholder interaction in ensuring the quality training of future psychologists, integrating the educational process with scientific research and modern consulting practices.

We aim to achieve an education that fosters productive work, professional growth, and in-depth training in the psychological and pedagogical support of individuals across different age and social groups.
