On 25 February 2026, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a guest lecture for higher education students majoring in C4/053 “Psychology” by Volodymyr Piddiachyi, PhD, Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Andragogy of the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, on the topic “The Noospheric Approach to Self-Actualisation of the Individual in a Digital Society”. The invitation of the lecturer was initiated by Alla Semenova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, who acted as moderator and co-organiser of the event. The event was implemented within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the institutions, which consistently expands students’ educational opportunities and strengthens the practice-oriented component of training future psychologists.

During his speech, the lecturer considered the digital society as a new stage in human development, in which information, knowledge and technology have become key resources. Volodymyr Piddiachyi emphasised that the digital environment opens up vast opportunities for learning, professional development and communication, while at the same time posing new challenges – a change in the way we think, the transformation of digital identity and increased responsibility for the use of technology.
Particular attention was paid to V. I. Vernadsky’s noosphere concept as a worldview foundation for the responsible use of knowledge and technology. For future psychologists, this concept has practical significance in shaping an ethical position, developing critical thinking, fostering awareness of professional social responsibility, and cultivating the ability to support individuals in the process of self-actualisation amid digital transformation. In this context, emphasis was placed on the conscious development of inner potential, integrating professional growth with moral values and service to the common good.

The guest lecture contributed to deepening the professional reflection of students, broadening their scientific horizons and integrating modern interdisciplinary approaches into the professional training of psychologists.

We express our sincere gratitude to Volodymyr Piddiachyi, PhD, Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Andragogy of the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Postgraduate Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, for his informative, conceptually sound lecture, high scientific level of presentation, and significant contribution to the professional development of future psychologists.
