Culture is more than just textbooks; it is, above all, a living memory that shapes our present. On March 3, the community of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design became part of a major cultural event. Students and faculty members of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture joined a unique online guest lecture titled "The Song Will Be Among Us," dedicated to the creative legacy and personality of the legendary Volodymyr Ivasyuk.

This event served as a centerpiece of the "Flower of Ukrainian Pedagogy" educational webinar series, bringing together over 260 participants from across the country to honor the artist whose melodies redefined modern Ukrainian music.
For our students of performing arts and future cultural professionals, the lecture transformed into a genuine exploration of meaning. The discussion was rendered particularly sincere by the keynote speakers — the composer’s sisters, Halyna and Oksana Ivasyuk. Together with diplomat and philologist Natalia Kolesnichenko-Bratun, they revealed Ivasyuk not just as the author of "Chervona Ruta," but as a profound intellectual who masterfully combined rigorous musical discipline with the authentic folklore of Bukovyna.
Throughout the meeting, moderated by Dr. Natalia Filipchuk, participants discussed how Ivasyuk's work became a space for freedom during times of heavy ideological restriction. Students from the Department of Performing Arts and Culture had the opportunity to analyze little-known chapters of the "Smerichka" and "Chervona Ruta" ensembles' history and view rare materials from the family archives.

The evening concluded with moving artistic performances, reaffirming that Ivasyuk’s heritage is not a static museum piece but a vital tool for self-identification. Today, as we build a modern Ukraine, the experience of an artist who elevated our art to a world-class level is of paramount importance for the new generation of creative professionals at KNUTD.
We express our gratitude to the organizers – the Department of Content and Technologies of Pedagogical Education of the Ivan Ziaziun Institute (NAES of Ukraine) – and all partners for the opportunity to immerse ourselves deeply in Ukrainian identity..
