CINEMA AS A TOOL FOR CHANGE: KNUTD POSTGRADUATES AND FACULTY EXPLORE THE POTENTIAL OF THE DOCU/CLUB NETWORK

Modern cultural studies extend far beyond theoretical research, integrating into current social and artistic processes. On March 5, the community of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design participated in an online meeting with representatives of the DOCU/CLUB network of film clubs for human rights media education. This event, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, served as a platform for a professional dialogue regarding the role of documentary cinema in the contemporary cultural landscape.

The meeting was held as part of the research interests of Andrii Fedoruk, a postgraduate student of the "Cultural Studies" educational and scientific program. Under the scientific mentorship of Doctor of Cultural Studies and Professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, Olena Rafayilivna Kopiievska, young researchers and faculty members analyzed practical cases of interaction with various stakeholders in the cultural sector.

Collaboration with the DOCU/CLUB network opens new horizons for understanding film trends not only as aesthetic phenomena but also as powerful tools for media education. Participants discussed the cultural significance of documentary filmmaking and its theoretical and practical prospects in shaping a civil society. For a higher education institution, such interaction is strategically vital, as it allows future Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) to synchronize their research with the real demands of modern culture and innovative educational practices.
