STUDENTS AND GRADUATES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ART AND FASHION DESIGN PRESENTED THEIR COLLECTIONS AT UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK

For many years in a row, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design has been a participant in the outstanding event of Ukrainian fashion - UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK. Students and graduates of the university demonstrate a high level of professional training in the field of fashion design, presenting their collections both on the catwalk and within the framework of the competitive program of the All-Ukrainian competition of Young Fashion Designers "Look into the Future". From the first years of study, students work as volunteers, getting acquainted with the world of fashion behind the scenes of fashion shows.

On March 14, 2026, on the UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK catwalk at the Mystetsky Arsenal, Saiman El Sabari, a third-year student of the Study Program “Fashion Design”, and Anna Kuzmenko, a graduate of the KNUTD, presented their collections.

After winning the 26th All-Ukrainian Competition of Young Fashion Designers “Looking into the Future. The Khanenko Museum Collection”, Anna Kuzmenko was given the opportunity to present the debut collection of her brand “LeCRI” as part of the 58th UFW season shows. The models of the LeCRI FW 26-27 collection are inspired by the Japanese ama ‒ legendary female divers who have been collecting pearls and seafood without scuba diving for centuries. The designer recreated their world through ethereal silhouettes, a white palette with shades of the sea, and organic details reminiscent of shells and scales. This is a modern interpretation of the strength and harmony of women who live in unity with the ocean.

For the second time, talented designer Saiman El Sabari is participating in UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK. This season, his new collection is called SUMUD. Sumud is an ancient Arabic word that means stability and inner invincibility. In the FW 26-27 season, the designer explores the moment of losing familiar supports, when a person is forced to rebuild his own identity. The restrained palette of the collection's models ‒ from cold white and steel gray to deep brown and khaki ‒ is combined with a reinterpreted aesthetic of uniforms and workwear. Clear lines of silhouettes, shoulders and utilitarian details of clothing form the image of a person who acts without aggression, but with internal control, reflecting the rhythm of the modern city.

On March 15, 2026, the UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK in the NEW NAMES program hosted the debut of Maksym Kudrevsky, a graduate of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of the KNUTD. His collection also debuted in the competition “Looking into the Future. Collection of the Khanenko Museum” and is inspired by the legacy of Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko. The key image of the collection was the 16th-century sculpture “Madonna and Child”, whose balanced forms and sense of inner light determined the character of the silhouettes.

As part of UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK, the SIDLETSKIY brand, founded by Igor Sidletsky, a graduate of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, celebrated its fifth anniversary by showing the Personality collection. It became the quintessence of the brand’s key ideas and aesthetic codes. An important part of the show was the continuation of cooperation with the U+SYSTEM Military Prosthetics Center, within which five military personnel with prostheses took to the podium for the second time, presenting adaptive clothing. Their appearance became a symbol of strength, dignity and a new culture of inclusivity in modern Ukrainian fashion.
