PARTICIPATION OF THE FACULTY OF DESIGN IN THE PROJECT "FASHION IN THE 60S"

Faculty of Design faculty and students joined the exhibition project "Fashion in the 60s" to preserve the creative achievements of famous female artists and fashion designers of the 1960s.

On March 15, 2026, the grand opening of this exhibition project took place at the Museum of the Sixties (a branch of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv).

The exhibition brought together museum items, archival materials, author's stories and other artifacts of the 1960s. A holistic picture of that time is formed through things, fabrics, sketches and images presented in the exhibition.

The value of the project is that it reveals to visitors the figures of artists whose work became an important part of the cultural life of Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century. The exhibition "Fashion for the 60s" allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the era and see unique exhibits: clothing models by Liubov Panchenko, Liudmyla Semykina, Iryna Senyk, and Yaroslava Menkush, as well as designer dolls based on the works of female artists.

At the opening of the exhibition, the Faculty of Design was presented by Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Nataliia Chuprina, Head of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Halyna Kokorina, Fashion Historian, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, and Vadym Batrak, Associate Professor of the Department of Multimedia Design.

The project was opened by Victoria Mukha, director of the Museum of the History of Kyiv, head of the Kyiv City Council's commission on culture, who welcomed those present at the opening and spoke about the stages of work on the project.

Designer Karina Gaeva, one of the initiators of this project, talked about how the organizers collected unique models of Ukrainian artists and about the main idea of the project - preserving the historical memory of the development of Ukrainian fashion in the 20th century.

Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, in her speech emphasized the importance of the project, which popularizes the work of Ukrainian artists, whose works today continue to be a source of inspiration for young designers studying at KNUTD.

Olena Lodzynska, head of the Museum of the Sixties, conducted an interesting tour of the museum.

We sincerely thank Karina Gaeva, designer, and Mariia Kotvytska, designer, graduate of KNUTD, for inviting KNUTD teachers and students to participate in the project: integrated lectures and visits to the exhibition by KNUTD students are planned.

The exhibition of the "Fashion for the 60s" project is open to visitors every day from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00 at the Museum of the Sixties (33 O. Honchara St.).
