More than one hundred samples of school uniform united in 20 collections were represented at the final stage of All-Ukrainian Contest “Style of Modern School” that took place at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design on 30 January 2010.

Authors of all collections tried to satisfy the requirements of children and their parents creating new modern and comfortable garments.

For instance, collection “Healthy Descendants” is designed according to developed science based recommendations connected with physiological development of a child. Orthopaedic corset for prevention and correction of faults in posture of school age children was developed. It can be worn under any school uniform. The corset also promotes symmetric development of back muscles because of spine maintaining in proper state. The corset was patented in Ukraine.

Contest jury was represented by: the chairman – Pavel Polyanskii, a deputy of minister of science and education of Ukraine; Vitalii Nemilostivyi, the first deputy of minister of industrial policy of Ukraine; Alla Grygorenko, an assistant of chief sanitary inspector of Ukraine; Oleg Dunaievskyi, the first assistant of the chairman of State Comity of Ukraine in Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy; Oleg Volkov, rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD); Oleksandr Sokolovskyi, president of All-Ukrainian Association of Employers “Ukrlegprom”; Iryna Danylevska, president of public association “Ukrainian Fasion Council”; Oleksandr Biriuk, director of Gymnasium 315 (Kyiv); Liliia Pustovit, designer and Andre Tan, designer.

After discussion six winners were chosen. Diplomas of All-Ukrainian Contest “Style of Modern School” signed by Yuliia Timoshenko, Honorary President of the Contest, were presented to authors of several collections, namely:

students of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD);

close corporation “Garment Factory “Yunost” (Youth)” (Kyiv);

“Kerch Garment Factory” Co Ltd (Autonomous Republic Crimea);

private enterprise “Childhood Style” (Kyiv);

private enterprise “Khelen -A” (Khmelnytskyi);

trade mark “Popeliushka (Cinderella)” (Berdychiv).

Decorations from Ukrainian Association of Light Industry Enterprises were also presented to numerous contest participants. Among them you can see students of College of Light Industry and KNUTD and a number of private entrepreneurs – national producers of children’s garment.

Organizers of the Contest were Ukrainian Association of Light Industry Enterprises (Enterprises for textile and clothing, leather and footwear industries), Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and Association of Children’s Fashion jointly with Council of Directors of Comprehensive Schools on a commission from Prime-Minister of Ukraine and with assistance of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

We would remind you that All-Ukrainian Contest “Style of Modern School” is carried out with aim to renew a family of school uniform and implement its production at national enterprises.
