Within the framework of the agreement between the State Organization “Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovation” and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), a Technology and Innovation Support Center – TISC – has been established.
The TISC at KNUTD is part of the national TISC network initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and implemented in Ukraine by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the IP Office.
The aim of the network is to provide users with access to high-quality services in the field of technological information and to enhance their ability to effectively utilize such information.
TISC is a strategic initiative aimed at elevating innovation in Ukraine to a new level. It actively promotes global cooperation, management of innovation projects, informational and consulting partnerships, and educational outreach.
TISC is an international project of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The activity of the KNUTD TISC is part of the international cooperation within the WIPO-created TISC network.
Main Objectives of the TISC:
- Supporting the development and operation of the TISC network in Ukraine, including participation in analytical research related to the creation, implementation, and commercialization of technologies, as well as acquisition, use, and protection of intellectual property rights.
- Organizing and conducting professional events such as conferences, seminars, training sessions, and educational programs dedicated to intellectual property, innovation, and technological development.
- Disseminating knowledge about the creation, legal protection, and commercialization of intellectual property (IP) objects among students, researchers, innovators, and stakeholders.
- Conducting scientific expertise and providing consultations, including the analysis of intellectual property objects and recommendations for their further use or protection.
- Ensuring users' access to patent databases and both patent and non-patent information resources necessary for high-quality patent research and analytical searches.
- Promoting modern approaches to the development of intellectual property and innovation activity, and fostering a culture of responsible attitude toward IP.
- Supporting the commercialization and technology transfer processes, and assisting inventors and scientists in the practical implementation of research outcomes.
- Facilitating interaction among all participants in the innovation ecosystem — universities, businesses, research institutions, startups, and government bodies.
Types of Services Provided by the TISC
Basic Services:
- Providing access to patent and non-patent information resources, including both international and national databases.
- Consulting support on rules and methods for working with available information resources.
- Organizing distance learning and supporting users during WIPO Academy online courses.
Additional Services:
- Assisting with patent searches and obtaining technical information necessary for analyzing innovative solutions.
- Training in practical search skills within specialized databases and other intellectual property information systems.
- Consultations on preparing and submitting applications for protective documents, including electronic filing.
- Providing access to TISC equipment and software for working with information resources.
- Preparing documentation for obtaining rights to intellectual property objects and assisting users throughout the registration process.
- Monitoring the scientific, technological, innovative, and intellectual potential of the university or institution, and analyzing research results.
- Consulting on the development and implementation of patent strategies for research groups or individual teams.
- Developing recommendations on the legal protection of R&D results, as well as strategies for their implementation and practical use.
- Providing other related services that may be required at various stages of creation, protection, and use of intellectual property.
