During the regular meeting of the scientific student club “Stage Dialogue”, 3rd-year students under the educational program “Acting and Production” and the club leader Vira BURNAZOVA discussed the submission of applications for participation in the 13th season of the International Competition “NEW YORK STARLIGHTS”, because its goal in the pop singing nomination is discovering new talents among young performers who have the potential for further development in the pop music industry; supporting cultural exchange by introducing the international audience to the unique vocal styles and repertoire of participants from different countries; promoting the professional growth of contestants by providing them with the opportunity to receive an assessment of their skills from reputable experts in pop singing; popularizing pop music and enriching this genre with modern interpretations, new voices and original songs.
The competition is designed to give young vocalists the opportunity to demonstrate their style, technical skills and artistry, as well as to promote their integration into the global music community, through which the participants' creative works are published and popularized, and they are given the opportunity to enter the Ukrainian Talent Alley and compete for a place on the Ukrainian Star Alley and the Constellation World Talent Network. It is a high-quality contest and educational program that offers professional and friendly judging, provides contestants with knowledge and skills, and actually publishes, advertises and promotes their work, making talented participants known.
The contestants’ creative pages and works on the online platform of the national creative ecosystem Alley of Stars of Ukraine and the international network Constellation World Talent Network are available for viewing and listening in many countries, including Ukraine, the USA, Canada, and the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Belgium, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Israel, Turkey, Japan, China, and others.
The club leader familiarized the participants with the requirements and criteria for participation in the International Competition “NEW YORK STARLIGHTS”. Particular attention was paid to the main stages of selection, the format of submission of materials, and the standards applicable to the works submitted to the Competition.
The attendees presented their projects that they were planning to submit to the Competition. After the applications were presented, the participants discussed possible ways to improve the submitted works, including: adaptation of drama to an international audience, use of visual effects to enhance the emotional component, integration of AR/VR elements, which can give projects additional interactivity.
All the participants successfully completed the presentations of their applications and received constructive recommendations for improving their projects. They formed individual plans for further training to improve the quality of their work before submitting projects to the International Competition “NEW YORK STARLIGHTS”.
The result of the meeting of the student scientific club “Stage Dialogue” was the submission of applications by 3rd-year students under the educational program “Acting and Production” Paola-Elizabeth Dzhym, Valeri Buryak, Sofia Slavinska (supervisor – Vira BURNAZOVA, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture) to participate in the 13th season of the International Competition “NEW YORK STARLIGHTS” in the pop singing nomination.
