On November 21, 2024, a meeting of the scientific circle «Actual problems of public law» was held (leaders of the scientific circle Yu.V. Onishchyk, I.A. Kovalenko). Topic: «Protection of personal data on the Internet».

The participants of the event discussed the essence of the category of «personal data», the features of personal data protection in general and on the Internet in particular, the role and powers of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the field of personal data protection, the features of legal liability for violation of personal data protection legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union, the issue of adapting Ukrainian legislation on personal data protection in accordance with international and European standards. The members of the scientific circle concluded that the effectiveness of personal data protection on the Internet can be ensured only under the condition of the comprehensive application of various methods, constant improvement of legislation and effective control over its compliance.

At the end of the meeting, the results of the activities of the scientific circle in the first semester of 2024-2025 academic year were summarized. Members of the scientific circle «Actual problems of public law» took part in the following events: II All-Ukrainian Conference «Problems of the Implementation of Rights, Freedoms and Legitimate Interests of Legal Entities in Ukraine» (Kyiv, October 8, 2024), scientific and practical round table «Lawyer's Speech-2024» (Kyiv, October 9, 2024), excursion to the Cassation Administrative Court as part of the Supreme Court (Kyiv, October 10, 2024), All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Student Conference «Actual issues of financial law» (Irpin, October 30, 2024).

The activity of the circle contributes to the development of professional competencies of higher education students, their involvement in scientific discussions and improvement of practical skills. The members of the circle continue to work on topical issues of law, forming a new generation of specialists capable of solving modern challenges and contributing to the development of legal science in Ukraine.
