The “Biotechnologist” student scientific club has completed another productive year. Throughout 2024, the members of the club actively worked in the Department’s training and research laboratories, acquiring new practical skills. This year was a period of active work for the students in various areas of modern biotechnology, from innovative microbial technologies to nanobiotechnology. The results of the “Biotechnologist” club’s research were published in abstracts presented at national and international conferences and in a research competition.

The research work “Stimulation of growth of nodule bacteria by cerium dioxide nanoparticles” was awarded a 2nd-degree Diploma at the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Research Papers in Biotechnology.

The club members also had an opportunity to present the results of their research on “Optimisation of the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Lactobacillus” and “Antibacterial properties of Lactobacillus AgNPs” at the XVIII All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).

The students also joined the scientific seminar “International DNA Day 2024”, where they made a presentation on innovative approaches to the use of DNA images in architecture and design.

Representatives of the club also took part in the KNUTD-2024 startup competition, winning first place in two nominations at once – “Best KNUTD Startup 2024” and “Students’ Choice”.

Summing up the above, 2024 was a busy and interesting year for the members of the “Biotechnologist” club!
