A MEETING OF THE SCHOOL OF THE YOUNG LINGUIST: BODY LANGUAGE: NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN DIFFERENT CULTURES

On 7 October 2024, the Department of Philology and Translation hosted a regular meeting of the student research group ‘School of the Young Linguist’. The topic of the meeting: ‘Body language: non-verbal communication in different cultures’. The event was hosted by the head of the club, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation, M.O. Vyshnevska.

During the event, students had the opportunity to:

- Get acquainted with scientific research in the field of non-verbal communication.

- Discuss various aspects of body language: from universal gestures to culturally specific signals.

- Analyse examples of how body language is used in different social contexts.

- Identify the role of body language in forming a first impression and building interpersonal relationships.

The active participation of students in the discussion demonstrates a high level of interest in the topic and a desire to deepen their knowledge of linguistics and intercultural communication.
