A MEETING OF THE SCHOOL OF THE YOUNG LINGUIST: THE INDO-EUROPEAN LANGUAGE FAMILY: COMMON ROOTS AND LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY

On 30 October 2024, the Department of Philology and Translation hosted a regular meeting of the student research group "School of the Young Linguist". The topic of the meeting: "The Indo-European Language Family: Common Roots and Linguistic Diversity". The event was hosted by the head of the club, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation, M.O. Vyshnevska.

During the event, students had the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the origins and historical development of the Indo-European language family.
  • Analyse the common features and differences between languages belonging to this family.
  • Discuss the influence of Indo-European languages on the modern linguistic landscape.
  • Examine interesting examples of linguistic kinship, particularly in vocabulary and grammar.

The meeting became a platform for fruitful discussions on fundamental linguistic issues and contributed to expanding students' knowledge of one of the world's largest language families.
