On 27 February 2025, the Department of Philology and Translation hosted a regular meeting of the student research group "School of the Young Linguist". The topic of the meeting: "Etymology of Ukrainian Words: A Journey Through Time". The event was hosted by the head of the club, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation, M.O. Vyshnevska.

During the event, students had the opportunity to:

• Explore the origins and historical transformation of Ukrainian words.
• Trace connections between Ukrainian vocabulary and other languages, particularly Slavic and Indo-European.
• Examine fascinating etymological hypotheses and linguistic borrowings.
• Discuss the impact of historical events and cultural interactions on the formation of modern Ukrainian vocabulary.

The meeting provided an exciting linguistic journey, deepening students’ understanding of the richness and historical roots of the Ukrainian language.
