In August – October 2024 year, 12 students of the 1st-2nd years of various faculties of the university took part in the work of the «Ukrainian language in professional communication» scientific circle under the leadership of Professor Ivan Dzyra. 3 meetings of the circle were held, at which the participants made reports and presentations, discussed various problems, participated in the development of educational materials

The purpose of the first meeting was to provide practical assistance to students in raising the general level of national consciousness, in particular by overcoming Russian-Ukrainian bilingualism. On the basis of the conducted questionnaire, the participants characterized the linguistic manifestations of national consciousness among the student youth of KNUTD.

Two meetings were held with the aim of providing practical assistance to students in improving the general level of speaking culture, in particular improving the communication skills and skills of speakers. In practice, the participants mastered the rules of language ethics and methods of formation of speech culture. Group members also got acquainted with the general requirements for oral business communication and the norms of oral business speech, as well as the rules of speech etiquette as a guarantee of successful professional activity.

The participants of the circle took part in I stage of the XXV International Ukrainian Language Competition named after Peter Jacyk. A student of the BIT2-23 group, O. Zalevska, applied to participate in the 5th All-Ukrainian Conference of Higher Education Graduates and Young Scientists «Innovation in Education, Science and Business: Challenges and Opportunities» and, in co-authorship with the academic supervisor, submitted to the collection the article «Adaptation of English loan-words in the information technology terminology system of the Ukrainian literary language».

On August 27, 2024, in the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design held a meeting of the scientific circle «Ukrainian language in professional communication» on the topic «Ukrainian language as a means of forming national consciousness», with the aim of providing practical assistance to students in raising the general level of national consciousness, in particular by overcoming Russian-Ukrainian bilingualism. The leader of the circle is I. Ya. Dzyra, prof. Department of Philology and Translation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences. Students of BIТ2-23 and BSH-24 groups took part in the meeting, who, on the basis of the conducted questionnaire, characterized the linguistic manifestations of national consciousness among the student youth of KNUTD. The members of the circle also got acquainted with the general language situation in Ukraine, mutual influence in the «language – state» system, and the peculiarities of the legal status of the state language in Ukraine.
