MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB “VOCATIONAL EDUCATION”

On September 24, 2024, a regular meeting of the scientific student club “Vocational Training” took place at the Department of Philology and Translation. The topic of discussion was “Lifelong learning and its impact on vocational training”.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the club, associate professor Kseniia Kugai, briefly outlined the purpose and objectives of the meeting. It was noted that the concept of “lifelong learning” is becoming increasingly relevant in the context of constant changes in the labor market.

The main issues discussed were:

  • The concept of lifelong learning. Group members discussed in detail the concept of “lifelong learning”, its basic principles, and goals. They discussed the differences between formal, non-formal, and informal education.
  • The importance of lifelong learning for professional development. It was emphasized that continuous updating of knowledge and skills is a necessary condition for a successful career in the modern world. Participants exchanged views on how lifelong learning can help overcome challenges associated with changing professions and technologies.
  • Opportunities for lifelong learning. Various forms of lifelong learning were considered: online courses, webinars, masterclasses, trainings, internships, etc. Participants shared their experiences using various learning tools.
  • The role of universities in providing lifelong learning. It was discussed how universities can contribute to the development of lifelong learning by offering appropriate programs and services for graduates and employees.

The discussion of the topic “Lifelong learning and vocational training” allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of continuous learning and to develop their own strategies for achieving career success.
