According to the work plan for the current academic year, from November 2024 to June 2025, under the guidance of Professors A. Andreieva and T.G. Shcherbatiuk of the Department of Biotechnology of Leather and Fur, six meetings of the student scientific club “Researcher” were held (20.11.2024, 10.03.2025, 14.04.2025, 24.04.2025, 07.05.2025, 04.06.2025). During these meetings, students explored the latest trends in biological and chemical technologies, genome-wide technologies, and prepared for discussions on modern methods of genome editing and the celebration of International DNA Day.

Students actively participated in the following events:

1. October 21, 2024 – Attended the lecture “Plants on the Sofa” by Dr. Geert Potters, Professor at Antwerp Maritime Academy, Belgium.
2. March 18, 2025 – Attended a lecture by Dr. Andrew Bassett of the Wellcome Sanger Institute (UK), as part of the BioGENext series on cutting-edge gene editing techniques.
3. April 23, 2025 – Participated in the 3rd expedition of the educational, scientific, and cultural project “Trails of Outstanding Fellow Countrymen-Scientists”.
4. April 25, 2025 – Took part in the scientific seminar with international participation “International DNA Day – 2025”, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Theodosius Dobzhansky, held at KNUTD, Kyiv.
5. May 20, 2025 – Attended a lecture by Professor Vasyl Andreevych Shenderovsky, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Physical Society, and laureate of the Taras Shevchenko Foundation and Ivan Ohienko Prize: “Let the World of Science Not Go Out”, held at KNUTD, Kyiv.

At the final meeting of the club, the outcomes of its activities for the period and the 2024-2025 academic year were summarized: 6 scientific articles (3 published, 3 accepted for publication in professional journals); 7 conference abstracts presented at national and international conferences, including those indexed in the SCOPUS scientometric database.
