At the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD, the scientific club “General Cosmetology”, supervised by PhD in Pharmacy, Associate Professor Olena Roik, continues to be actively engaged.

The purpose of the club is to realize the scientific and creative potential of talented youth in the field of cosmetology, to develop practical skills in working with cosmetic products, as well as to involve students and school pupils in research activities and participation in competitions of various levels.

Within the framework of the club’s activities, members carried out laboratory research aimed at the development of the composition and technology of sunscreen products in the form of a gel, cream, and lotion, practicing methodologies for the rational selection of components, studying their physicochemical properties, and assessing the stability of the obtained samples.

An important focus of the club’s activity has been the involvement of school students. Thus, within the framework of the club’s work, pupils of Lyceum No. 142 of the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv took part and demonstrated significant scientific achievements.

A special source of pride was the achievement of Sofiia Yaremenko, a pupil of Lyceum No. 142, who won third place at the city stage of the All-Ukrainian competition-defense of research projects of students – members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the section Medicine of the Chemistry and Biology department (2024–2025 academic year). The scientific supervisor of her work was PhD in Pharmacy, Associate Professor Olena Roik.

Another distinguished member of the club was Anastasiia Shestopal, a 10-B grade pupil of Lyceum No. 142 in Kyiv, who received a certificate of merit for her research work “Selection and Characterization of Components of a Waterless Cosmetic Product.” The scientific supervisor of the project was PhD in Pharmacy, Associate Professor Olena Roik.

These achievements confirm the high level of scientific training of the club members and the effective work of the club’s supervisor.

The scientific club “General Cosmetology” continues to expand its activities, attract new participants, and shape the next generation of professionals in the field of pharmacy and cosmetology.
