STUDENT SCIENTIFIC CLUB «MASTERING UKRAINIAN: COUNTRIES AND PEOPLE»

From November 2024 to May 2025, in accordance with the work plan of the student scientific club «Mastering Ukrainian: countries and people», four meetings were held under the guidance of Svitlana Dvorianchykova, an Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.

On November 14, 2024, a meeting was held on the topic Picturesque Ukraine. It was attended by foreign students of KNUTD and future philologists and translators. The participants gave presentations on Ukrainian landscapes and initiated a discussion on how modern Ukrainian society should care for nature in the context of globalisation.

On March 20, 2025, a meeting was held on the topic Comfortable Travel: Aeroplanes and Hotels. During discussions and presentations, students shared their thoughts on how travel enriches a person's life experience, why they choose to travel in a certain way, and which hotels they consider the most comfortable.

On April 24, 2025, a meeting was held on the topic My Home. The students looked at Ukrainian phrases that help establish contact with people and start conversing with them about their homes. The students proposed ideas for organising meetings where participants could discuss apartment interiors and current trends in living space design.

On May 15, 2025, a meeting was held on the topic My Ideal Summer Holiday. Students took part in educational role-playing games, where they recreated typical situations that can occur during a holiday: ordering tickets, planning a travel itinerary, and booking accommodation.

Each meeting contributed to deepening the student’s knowledge and motivated them to master the Ukrainian language while critically analyzing contemporary challenges in its teaching.

The outcomes of the group’s work during this period were reflected in the abstracts and reports that its members will present at several scientific conferences, including:

The 3rd All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of Education Candidates and Young Researchers “Reconstruction of Ukraine’s Transport Infrastructure” (on March 25, 2025);

The 10th All-Ukrainian Conference “Innovative Trends in Specialist Training in a Multicultural and Multilingual Globalized World” (on April 11, 2025);

The Interregional Scientific and Methodological Online Seminar for University Teachers and Students with International Participation “The Polyphony of Nature: Interdisciplinary Dialogue in Contemporary Ecocritical Studies” (on April 29, 2025);

The 10th International Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Educational Space” (on May 9, 2025).
