MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC CIRCLE “KALOKAGATIYA”

The first meeting of the scientific circle "Kalokagatiya" in the 2025-2026 academic year is dedicated to the forgotten names of Ukrainian artists. The head of the circle, candidate of philosophical sciences, associate professor of the department of the State Museum of Modern Art, Mnozhynska R.V., explained that Ukraine is returning its sons-artists who were taken from it because it had no voice, because it was in the Russian or Soviet empires. After the start of the current great war of Russia against Ukraine, leading Western museums rewrote several famous artists from "Russians" to "Ukrainians." For example, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, which houses the largest collection of Kazimir Malevich's works , through the efforts of Ukrainian cultural experts, rightly reclassified him as a "Ukrainian", because it was in Ukraine that he formed as an artist, and Malevich's first professional teacher was the famous Ukrainian artist Mykola Pimonenko, who created many wonderful paintings on Ukrainian historical themes, as well as from rural life.
