MEETING OF THE STUDENT SCIENTIFIC CLUB ‘STAGE DIALOGUE’

At the beginning of the new academic year 2025, in September, a regular meeting of the student scientific circle ‘Stage Dialogue’ of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design took place. The meeting brought together active and enterprising higher education seekers who are eager to study in depth the topical issues of contemporary theatre arts.

Under the constant guidance of the head of the department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Vira Burnazova, the club members began a new season of scientific discussions and creative research. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss and analyse key topics that determine the role of theatre in modern society and the educational process.

Participants actively joined in the discussion of the presentations, with the following topics attracting particular attention:

– ‘Theatrical art as a factor in shaping an individual's cultural experience.’ Participants discussed the influence of theatre on the development of emotional intelligence, empathy and aesthetic taste in the audience, as well as its role in preserving and transmitting cultural heritage.

– ‘Theatre pedagogy: innovative approaches and methods.’ Contemporary educational practices were considered that use theatre techniques to develop communication skills, creativity and self-confidence not only in future actors, but also in representatives of other professions.

– ‘The concept of identity in Ukrainian theatre arts.’ This topic sparked a lively discussion on how Ukrainian theatre reflects on issues of national self-awareness, historical memory and the search for cultural identity in the context of contemporary challenges.

The meeting was a logical start to the new academic year, allowing club members to outline priority areas for future research, scientific publications and creative projects. Higher education students expressed their opinions on the relevance and practical value of the topics discussed, emphasising the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to the study of performing arts.

Based on the fruitful discussion and the issues discussed, the members of the scientific and student club look confidently to the future of their professional activities. We wish them constant inspiration, new scientific achievements and continued success in the new academic year!
