On August 22, 2025, the first meeting of the Student Scientific Club “The Art of Translation” opened the new academic year at the Department of Philology and Translation. The session was led by Nataliia Gudkova, Associate Professor and PhD in Philology, who supervises the club.
The meeting, themed “The Art of Translation: Key Approaches, Directions, and Contemporary Challenges,” became a symbolic start to the 2025-2026 academic year. Students explored how translation functions not only as a linguistic activity but also as a bridge between cultures in today’s rapidly changing, digitalized world. They raised thought-provoking questions about intercultural communication, technological shifts in translation practice, and the evolving role of translators.
The lively discussion set an inspiring tone for the year ahead, encouraging students to deepen their knowledge, develop critical thinking, and engage actively in the club’s upcoming projects, research, and events.
