On the occasion of Ukrainian Climate Week, which took place this year from October 6 to 12, a field meeting of the club “Clean Environment – Future of the Planet” was held under the leadership of Prof. Viktoriia PLAVAN.

On October 15, students of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving visited the Kyiv City House of Nature, where they attended an engaging interactive lecture on the causes, consequences, and main ways to overcome climate change. They also took a tour of the aquarium hall.

The highlight of the House of Nature is the largest open collection of tropical freshwater aquarium fish and plants in Ukraine. On that day, visitors to the exhibition witnessed a rare event — a female garden boa gave birth to live offspring. The garden boa is a viviparous, non-venomous species, also known as the Amazonian tree boa.

The students also learned about the specifics of keeping tropical fish and reptiles in artificial environments and observed the feeding of piranhas.
