THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB MEETING – “CLOSING THE GAP: HOW INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION CONNECTS EDUCATION AND GLOBAL CAREERS”

On October 16, 2025, the Department of Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries held a regular meeting of the scientific club “Vocational Training and Foreign Language Communication.”

The topic of the meeting was “Closing the Gap: How Intercultural Communication Connects Education and Global Careers”.

The head of the club, Associate Professor Kseniia Kugai, opened the session by emphasizing that in the context of globalization, effective intercultural interaction has become a key competence of a modern specialist.

Participants discussed how foreign language proficiency and understanding of cultural differences contribute to professional growth and successful integration into the international labor market.

Examples of intercultural barriers and ways to overcome them through the development of empathy, tolerance, and active listening skills were examined.

Special attention was paid to the formation of intercultural competence in the process of foreign language learning.

Students shared their experiences of participating in international educational programs and internships, which helped them realize the importance of cultural diversity in professional communication.

During the meeting, an infographic illustrating the key principles of intercultural communication, helping to avoid stereotypes and build effective dialogue, was also presented.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of engagement, openness, and inspiration toward further development of intercultural interaction skills.
