On November 21, 2025, the Department of Philology and Translation held a meeting of the student research club “Art of Translation” led by Associate Professor Nataliia Gudkova, PhD in Philology. The topic of the meeting “Translation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: New Opportunities and Risks for the Profession” became the basis for an active discussion among the participants.
During the meeting, students reflected on how artificial intelligence transforms translation practice, what prospects automation technologies open up, and what risks they pose for the professional development of translators. Particular attention was paid to ethical issues, the quality of machine translation, the human role in the creative process, and the importance of developing critical thinking in the era of digitalization.

As part of the discussion, the participants reviewed the conference paper by K. Aloshyna, a student of group BAM-23, titled “Innovative Technologies in Teaching Translation Using Online Platforms and Simulations.” The paper was prepared for the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “New Trends in Translation Studies, Philology, and Linguodidactics in the Context of Globalization Processes” (Zhytomyr, November 5, 2025). The discussion of this work illustrated the practical connection between the session’s theme and the scientific interests of the club members.
As a result of their participation in the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “New Trends in Translation Studies, Philology, and Linguodidactics in the Context of Globalization Processes,” students of the BAM-23 group, Kamila Hryb and Kateryna Aloshyna, received certificates of participation.

The meeting marked another step toward fulfilling the club’s mission — to foster translation skills, critical thinking, and scientific activity among students interested in current trends in translation studies. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue researching the impact of technology on the future of the translation profession.
