The purpose of the scientific club: to identify talented students who are inclined to scientific work and develop their skills of self-education, self-development and comprehensive understanding of problems, to improve students' communicative linguistic competence, to involve them in scientific, business projects and competitions, and to create conditions for creative growth and career development. Main tasks: expansion and deepening of students' theoretical knowledge of the chosen problem, systematization and analysis of modern scientific approaches to solving theoretical and practical problems; deepening students' knowledge of related disciplines; improvement of students' abilities and skills to independently conduct scientific research, to use modern methods of conducting it; promoting students' acquisition of organizational work skills in the process of setting up and conducting an experiment; development of students' abilities to apply acquired knowledge in solving specific scientific tasks; encouraging scientific activity of students, supporting and initiating independent scientific and educational research work of students; improving the skills of independent work with scientific literature; promoting the formation of rhetorical skills (presentations, essays, reports at conferences, etc.); exchange of experience in organizing and conducting scientific work among group members. Scientific research topics of the student club: linguistic interpretation of an English-language literary text; subject and object of text linguistics; linguistic interpretation of the text; the relationship of interpretation with other disciplines; types of texts by pragmatic purpose; categories of text; information theory and types of information in the text; systemic dependence and conditionality of all elements of the artistic whole; plot and compositional structure of a literary text.
