The excursion began with a visit to the main defensive architectural monument of the times of Kyivan Rus - the Golden Gate with a monument to Yaroslav the Wise.

The sculpture of the cat Panteleimon, which was installed at the expense of the citizens of Kyiv to honor the animal that lived in the restaurant "Pantagruel", opposite Zolotovorotivskyi Square, and died during a fire in it, aroused interest.

Active participation in the implementation of the project of the British Council in Ukraine "Creative Spark", which was implemented at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, was taken by employees and students of higher education majors: 241 Hotel and restaurant business and 242 Tourism and recreation. Associate Professor Oleg Shevchenko was appointed project coordinator from KNUTD, Associate Professor Julia Biryukova actively worked as a member of the working group. The working group was headed by the Rector of the University Professor Ivan Mykhailovych Hryshchenko. The working group of the project underwent an internship at the University of Southampton in Great Britain. The main activity of the project is aimed at improving entrepreneurial skills and the level of knowledge of the English language among students of higher education.

So, for example, Anna Chmyr, a 2nd-year student, major 241 "Hotel and restaurant business", as part of an initiative group of students, made it to the finals of the international competition Creative Spark Big Idea Challenge 2021 with a competitive startup of a student cafe of healthy food!

Among them are the trainings "Creating your own business - from idea to profit", "Startup marketing", "Start your startup" and others.

The results of cooperation with the University of Sheffield Hallam from Great Britain

As part of the memorandum of cooperation concluded in 2022 between Kyiv National University of Technology and Design and Sheffield Hallam University (Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), Great Britain), a fruitful scientific and educational cooperation with the Department of Management in the field of tourism and hospitality of the British partner was initiated. A significant achievement of such cooperation was the implementation of the educational and practical online course "Hotel Operations Tactics and Strategy - HOTS" at the department. The first event of academic mobility within the framework of this course took place in the period from 06.02.23 to 04.03.23. During the course, students had the opportunity to study under the British educational program HOTS and compare with students of a British university in the art of hotel management. From among more than 50 participants, the student of BTUR-20 Korenko Kateryna entered the final, in which 5 teams took part.

HOTS is a unique dynamic learning and development experience for the hospitality industry, based on a realistic computer-based exercise that simulates business management, based on student-proposed business strategies, marketing and sales plans, raising finance, operations and human resources, developing a business -plan and implementing it through a series of decisions over a five-year simulation period. It is worth noting that together with the British professors David Graham (Dr. David Graham) and Ian Elsmore (Dr. Ian Elsmore) during the lecture and practical classes, the associate professor of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of KNUTD Oleg Shevchenko participated, who officially got access to modular environment as a teacher at SHU and, together with British colleagues, published a professional article in a British scientific journal. According to the results of the course, professors Graham and Elsmore received thanks from the Rector of KNUTD.

Currently, on the way to the introduction of a double diploma in the field of tourism and hospitality, cooperation continues in the form of webinars and participation in joint events https://knutd.edu.ua/pod-ta-publkats/news/15670/, https:/ /knutd.edu.ua/pod-ta-publkats/news/15194/, https://knutd.edu.ua/pod-ta-publkats/news/16330/

During 2020–2023, the teachers of the department implemented the project module of the "Jean Monet" direction Role of Financial Consumer Protection in the Financial Stability in Digital Era: European Approaches (620509-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE). The purpose of the module is to Europeanize the institutional, organizational and procedural architecture of the protection of the rights of consumers of financial services in the conditions of digital transformation, which will ultimately contribute to the financial integration and financial stability of Ukraine and will be achieved through the introduction of European studies in the preparation of bachelors.
