On January 22, 2023, in the gallery of the National Sanctuary «Sophia of Kyiv», where the exhibition of replicas of the historical Ukrainian costume "COSTUME LIBRARY: UKRAINIAN BAROQUE" of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of KNUTD, a creative meeting of the Department’s teachers, students, residents of the city of Kyiv, interested in art and fashion, took place.

The teachers of the Department of Art and Fashion Design – Halyna Kokorina, PhD, Assoc. Prof.; Iryna Davydenko, Assoc. Prof., told the visitors of the exhibition about interesting moments in the history of the Ukrainian national costume, about the peculiarities of the practical reconstruction of national clothing, about how professional designers work on rethinking the national heritage and create collections of modern clothes with Ukrainian ethnic motifs.

As part of the event, participants were invited to try on samples of reconstructed clothing, and artists created sketches of the costume.

The event was attended by students of the educational program "Fashion Design" at the bachelor’s and master’s levels of education, postgraduate students of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD, the group of artists «Kyiv Pleinair», as well as Kyiv schoolchildren who received information about studying at KNUTD and the opportunity to receive education in design.
