Scientists from the Faculty of Design at KNUTD, together with the foreign partners, won with the project proposal titled "Innovations in Smart and Digital Vocational Skills for the Textile Industry" (InnovaTex) and will receive grant support under the Erasmus-EDU-2024-CB-VET program (Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training).
The InnovaTex project, which will run from 2024 to 2027 under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Engineering, Prof. Kalyna Pashkevych, is focused on continuous professional education in the field of 3D-smart techonologies for textile products by updating existing vocational training programs and integrating the principles of 3D-smart techonologies for textiles into vocational education curricula, as well as improving the digital and innovative skills related to technical textiles among teachers and employees of textile companies in Moldova and Ukraine.
Consortium of Partners from Romania, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, and Moldova are involved in the project. These include such institutions as: National Research - Development Institute for Textiles and Leather (INCDTP) based in Romania; University of West Attica (Panepistimio Dytikis Attikis) and the Institute of Creative Thinking Development (Dimiourgiki Skepsi Anaptyxis) from Greece; Italian Center for Lifelong Learning (CIAPE); Kherson National Technical University; Technical University of Moldova and the Center of Excellence in Light Industry in Chisinau.
Within the InnovaTex project, the experience and competencies of European universities and vocational training providers will be used, adapting them to the needs of vocational education in Ukraine and Moldova. This will significantly improve the qualification level, opportunities, and competitiveness of graduates in the labor market through the development of new innovative educational programs that build digital, environmental, and smart technology skills related to 3D design.
