FOREWORD
Universities exist to respond to critical social challenges – and there is no more important issue than educating a new generation capable of consciously and professionally building a sustainable, ecologically safe planet. For us, as a scientific and educational institution with a vision to support the paradigm: "Knowledge Leadership for Recreating a Better World", sustainable development is one of the key guidelines for fulfilling the mission of the University. This is our mobilization task during the war – through high-quality training of highly qualified specialists, to take care of the restoration and sustainable development of Ukraine, to take an active part in the personal development of youth, their patriotic and spiritual upbringing, improvement of abilities and lifelong pursuit of a happy life. We must become a reference model for the entire community, directing the behavior of other subjects of the institutional, social, and economic world and, to a large extent, influencing the formation of a system of values in society. Of course, the University, like any other organization, has an operational structure, and its activities affect the economy, society, and the environment. Therefore, our institutional role has a double obligation - to develop ourselves according to the principles of sustainable development and confidently promote these principles in society.
These ambitious tasks facing the University today require the integration of the principles of sustainable development into its operating model. In this situation, the search for ways to implement the principles of sustainable development into the development strategy and operation of KNUTD comes to the fore.
Currently, together with students, teachers, researchers, business partners, and stakeholders, we have developed a new Sustainable Development Strategy for the University to overcome all the challenges that have arisen for us and the entire society in these difficult times of russian armed aggression for Ukraine. The academic experience of KNUTD in sustainable development is quite significant and powerful. That is why we strive to become a leader in this field and realize our own vision of a promising future for Ukraine and the planet as a whole, a future where we strive to be one of the most progressive universities developing on the principles of sustainable development in Ukraine.
Inspired by this vision, we look forward to working with all stakeholders to create a sustainable university for a better world - a place of hope for our country's future and post-war revival.
