The aim of the InnovaTex project is to improve digital and smart skills in Moldova's and Ukraine's textile sectors be means of creating an international network for vocational learning in digital/smart textiles based on green technologies on the base of scientific recearches and innovative, generative, and adaptive learning methods.
Project objectives:
– conduct scientific research in the field of development of smart and "green" technologies, digital fashion, innovative materials and technologies, digitalization of the garment and textile industry, innovative and digital methods in the design of clothing and personal protective equipment;
– based on theoretical and practical research into modern innovative technologies and methods for designing clothing and personal protective equipment to enhance VET learners' competencies, skills, and employability through updating the VET training programs by integrating the principles of 3D Smart Textiles into the curricula of VET training providers in Ukraine and Moldova;
– conduct scientific research in the field of digital design, ecological clothing design, to promote digitalization, smart and green skills, and competency development for learners (students, job seekers, and workers);
– by implementing the results of scientific research, new knowledge and innovative methods, digital technologies to improve VET teachers' and trainers' knowledge of technical aspects, managerial and pedagogical skills;
– conduct scientific analysis and theoretical research, develop educational materials and an electronic platform for improving the knowledge of technical textiles of existing employees in clothing and design areas;
– to offer through transnational collaboration new opportunities for labour markets in Ukraine and Moldova, such as PPE design and flexible smart components development;
– through project implementation to accelerate sustainable growth of textile industry in the context of the green-digital-smart transition.
Expected results:
The short term results included:
– the establishment of the two smart laboratories («Smart fabrics 3D design for personal protective equipment» Smart Labs) in Ukraine and Moldova,
– the definition of the courses to be offered for initial and continuing training and their influence in the VET/HEI curricula to be accepted by companies in the textile sector.
The medium results are expected to be mostly:
– in developing human resources, strengthening resilience,
– acquiring new skills to face the digital/green transition,
– anticipating the need for new skills, and acquiring them by improving existing knowledge and retraining employees.
– The project will promote cooperation between different actors, including social partners, training providers, public authorities, researchers, public and private employment services, chambers of commerce, and other intermediate bodies and sectoral organizations, and it will promote skills development as a common task.
The long-term results will be:
– the acceptance and integration of concepts for creating protective equipment preceded by simulation in a virtual environment, digitising fabrics and 3D smart textile prototyping within enterprises, and updating courses and contents for future technologies.
– InnovaTex will strengthen the role of VET training in both countries and contribute to establishing a continuous learning method oriented towards current challenges, such as social inclusion and digital/green transition.
– Project methodology can be used for future actions related to the lifelong vocational training and career guidance system for other sectors and all levels and types of education, including educational programme, laboratories, education and training centres.
– The project will propose a structured vocational learning program that includes staff training, teaching, online learning, and testing of training modules and knowledge in the specific environment, and it will open opportunities for applications in different fields.
