The centre activities:

  • support for the functioning of the information environment “Modular environment of the educational process”, which is used for applicants for the institutional form of higher education;
  • organization of educational activities by distance (external using distance learning technologies) form of education
  • Advanced training courses for research and teaching staff in accredited specialties.


About the distance training:

Distance learning is an individualized process of education that occurs mainly through the indirect interaction of distant participants in the educational process in a specialized environment that operates on the basis of modern psychological, pedagogical, information and communication technologies.

In the process of distance training, e-mail and learning management system (LMS) such as moodle and eFront; means of audio and video communication are used.

To ensure a high level of quality of education services in the educational process leading scientists (professors, associate professors working in KNUTD) and practitioners (heads of enterprises and institutions) are involved in the educational process.

Throughout the learning process students are provided with instructions by e-mail and on-line communication.



The purpose of distance training is to provide education services through the use of modern information and communication technologies at certain educational or educational and qualification levels in accordance with the state education standards; according to the programs of people's preparation for admission to education institutions, preparation of foreigners and vocational development of workers. The goal of distance training is to provide citizens with the opportunity to exercise their constitutional right to education and professional qualifications, to improve their qualifications regardless of gender, race, nationality, social and property status, kind and nature of occupations, ideological beliefs, membership in parties, attitudes to religion, religion, health, place of residence according to their abilities.



A significant advantage of distance training is the ability to implement access to all levels of education for all those who are not able to study in institutions of higher education in classical forms for one or another reasons:

  • Lack of time. Distance training frees you from having to attend an education institution in a scheduled time. Students themselves regulate the time of studies and learn when it is comfortable for them.
  • Professional or other employment. Distance education gives the opportunity to get education for all those who spend most of their time at work, with their children or with their families. Education can be done at the same time with the doing a career without risk of losing work or being on childcare leave.
  • Territorial distance from education institutions. Distance training is an opportunity to get education for those who live in remote regions of the country or abroad. Distance education provides a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge without leaving their country, region, city.
  • Financial opportunities. Distance training enables students to save considerable money in comparison with other forms of education, with the qualitative knowledge and a diploma of state-level education. First of all, this is explained by the fact that the basis of the educational process in distance education is the purposeful and controlled independent work of the student, who can study at a convenient time and in a convenient place. Accordingly, the education institution reduces the cost of paying for premises, utilities, salaries for teachers, etc.
  • Physical capabilities. Modern information and communication technologies used in distance education provide an opportunity to receive education for people with medical restrictions for education in traditional forms, people with special needs.

Also, the advantages of distance education is that this form of education provides an opportunity to improve the quality of educational services involving highly skilled teachers, practitioners from different fields in the preparation and conduct of distance training, the creation of education Web-resources. Students of distance training receive full electronic compendium of lectures according to the program of full-time education. Remote Internet education also has a positive effect on personal development, increasing the level of self-organization and responsibility, improving the level of computer literacy.

Distance training is possible anywhere, anytime and for anyone, and has already become an important component of virtual socialization of the individual.

In 2008, in order to introduce the latest education information technologies into the process of training on the basis of the Institute of Modern Learning Technologies, the Center for Distance Training (CDT) was created. According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine No. 732 dated July 22, 2010, "On the introduction of a pedagogical experiment on distance training at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design", students are taught in distance training.

Significant contribution to its formation and development was made by the first leader - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Borys Zlotenko. During the existence of the center, its managers were also Olga Zhdanova and Nadia Fedoriv.

Since April 2016, according to the order No. 92 of 27.04.2016 it was renamed into the Center for Advanced and Distance Training (CADT).


Educational activities are carried out by distance learning (by external form using distance learning technologies) in the specialties: “Economics”, “Accounting and Taxation”, “Finance, Banking and Insurance”, “Management”, “Marketing” “Entrepreneurship , Trade and Exchange Activities “, “Law”, “Computer Science”, “Applied Mechanics”, “Industrial Engineering”, “Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics “, “Light Industry Technologies”, “Tourism”, “Public Management and Administration”.


In the context of social transformations that require profound changes in the education system, it is important to train heads of universities, academies, institutes, colleges, scientific and pedagogical staff to work in the information society, who are able to support educational policy as a priority function of the state, which contributes to the satisfaction of educational and spiritual-cultural needs of all entities of the educational process, the development of their ability to self-development and lifelong learning.

A special place in this process is taken by the system of advanced training, as it is intended to restructure the education sector and, accordingly, social transformations at a qualitatively new level, which will ensure the development of national scientific and educational information network and information resources by the main fields of knowledge, its accession, in particular, to European scientific and educational networks. In the system of advanced training, taking into account the specifics of the range of students, it is possible to create an innovation and development environment in which, based on professional experience, initiate their professional and personal development, help students plan their own strategy of effective professional activity.

The main idea of professional development is to develop their general and special (work-related functional competencies) within the scope of basic education, professional and life experience, personal interests, social needs and state requirements for effective performance of professional duties, formation of information and digital competence of individuals under the conditions of information society and open education.

According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 30.04.2013 №1480л Kyiv National University can carry out advanced training of students in accredited specialties in the quantity of 750 people annually.

The Center for Advanced Training and Distance Education organizes professional development for the following categories of learners:

- heads of universities, academies, institutes, colleges;

-    scientific and pedagogical workers;

- teachers-tutors (organizers) of distance learning of universities, academies, institutes, colleges;

- methodologists, job training instructors, laboratory assistants and other categories of students.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 21.08.2019 № 800 “Some issues of professional development of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers” professional development is carried out by institutional (internal (full-time, part-time) external, distance, network) form of professional development, forms of professional development can be combined.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, advanced training is conducted under the program “Use of digital technologies in the educational process”, approved by the Academic Council of the University on 25.11.2020, Protocol №4.

The purpose of advanced training under the program “Use of digital technologies in the educational process” is to improve the managerial, scientific-methodical and professional competencies of learners on the use of digital technologies in the educational process; development of general and special competencies; application of renewed competencies under the conditions of social transformations.

The scope of the advanced training program is 180 hours / 6 ECTS credits. The volume of one training module is within 30 hours / 1 ECTS credit.

If the accumulative advanced training system is used, the volume of one stage should not be less than 30 hours / 1 ECTS credit.
